Unlimited Potential Is What Happens When Reasons Are Believed

When I first heard Steve Jobs's quote that he wanted to put a dent in the universe, I ignored it. You should not.

When pitching, talking to other founders, and hiring team members, I was asked the purpose of this company.

The answer I gave was made up because my true purpose was just revenue.

The wrong answer

Regardless of how you answer the question, 'What is the purpose of your business?' It must be genuine. More than convincing others, you must believe in this purpose and be committed to it.

Why care

If your sole aim is money, you're likely to fail. Money alone is not a potent enough motivator for most people to overcome the massive challenges of scaling a company.

Motivation

What values do you hold most dear? The ones you are willing to dedicate your life to. Those must be the reason for your company's existence.
